Social Sciences Connect

Building a better world together

We believe that innovative and collaborative social scientific enquiry is crucial to tackling the most pressing issues affecting our world today, and those we will face in the future. The future of democracy; addressing climate change; AI and the future of work; the future of social science – these key issues pose crucial questions that we must address.

For The University of Warwick, this provides a unique opportunity to drive investment and innovation across the Faculty of Social Sciences, further elevating our international reputation for bold, world-leading and collaborative education and research.

We are building on subject-specific excellence to develop interdisciplinary pre-eminence within both education and research through new sector-leading undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This investment will enable us to connect people, partners and possibilities, as we future-proof society against challenges on the horizon, and enhance our capabilities to create innovative, sustainable solutions.

Education

We are creating new multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes, helping to develop academics and researchers of tomorrow. These courses will cultivate the necessary skills and understanding to address the key societal questions we face now, and those that will be vitally important for our world in the coming years.

Research

We will ask the big questions of social science today to help prepare the answers of tomorrow. This will enable us to bring together our best minds, as they harness innovative thinking to tackle the most complex challenges of our time. Working with like-minded academics and institutions around the world, we will collaboratively solve problems through global research.

Partnerships

We will create and maintain pioneering partnerships, collaborating on innovative research that has a meaningful impact on society. Through enhanced external engagement, we can build deep and enduring collaborations with new and existing partners, connecting our academic researchers with those responsible for shaping policy and practice across all sectors.
