Egbert is a self-employed lean expert and he enjoys helping people and organizations find ways to continuously improve their business.

Why did you choose Warwick?

Warwick was strongly advised by my manager at the time because of the profound automotive and manufacturing backgrounds and expertise at WMG.

What are you doing now?

I am currently self-employed as a Lean Expert.

What motivates you to do what you do? 

What motivates me to still work after retirement is helping people and organizations find ways to continuously improve their business. It is very rewarding when I experience how people contribute and respond to improvement initiatives.

How has your time at Warwick influenced what you do now?

My time at Warwick has boosted my career and personal development to the max and has given me opportunities to work all around EU as a Lean consultant.

Favourite memory? 

My thoughts go back to the week when I joined the personal excellence development module. This was the most challenging part of the degree and provided me with invaluable insights on my personality.

Best thing about the Warwick community?

The campus and being around fellow students for the whole week (I did the part-time Engineering Business Management programme).

Favourite place on campus?

The surroundings of the campus. I had many hikes in the beautiful environment.
