Quickfire Questions with Evan Watts

Evan, now a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Ontario, credits Warwick Medical School for shaping his global perspective and enabling his return to Canada for postgraduate training.

Why did you choose Warwick?

I was impressed with the clinical aspect of the program. I felt it was organized and offered a variety of opportunities.

What are you doing now?

I’m a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Markham Stouffville Hospital, Ontario

What motivates you to do what you do? 

I perform approximately 350 total hip and knee replacements a year. I have a passion for the direct anterior hip replacement. I love the pace of orthopaedics in Canada.

How has your time at Warwick influenced what you do now?

It provided me with a perspective of public and private healthcare. Allowed me the opportunity to meet the requirements to return to Canada for post graduate education.

Favourite memory? 

Warwick Ice Hockey and Warwick Rugby. Shout out to the brotherhood of the coin.

Best thing about the Warwick community?

I loved the campus.

Warwick Medical School building.
