About

I hold an MSc in International Studies from the Faculté des Affaires Internationales in Le Havre, where I studied law, economics and languages. My thesis examined the impact of IMF structural adjustment policies on developing countries, sparking a lasting interest in the intersection of public policy, people and business.

After a stint in the tourism industry, I returned to academia to pursue a BA in English at the Université François Rabelais in Tours. This led to a lectrice position at the University of Wolverhampton, followed by a role in software translation, where I worked on technical content in finance, logistics and the automotive sector.

However, teaching has always been the area where I have felt most engaged and fulfilled. After earning my PGCE, I joined the Language Centre at the University of Warwick in 2000. I am currently Associate Professor in French and French Subject Leader. From 2021 to 2024, I served as Head of the Language Centre.

Beyond Warwick, I have contributed to higher education in various capacities. I was an external examiner for the University of Cardiff from 2012 to 2016 and for Durham University from 2016 to 2020. I am also a UNILANG examiner for the UNILANG certification scheme. In 2023, I co-founded FLEUR (Association of French Teachers in Further and Higher Education in the UK) - https://fleurnetwork.org/), where I serve as a member of the executive committee and act as secretary.
