Following his retirement in 2008 he was appointed as an Emeritus Professor in the Department. In 2014 he was also appointed as an Honorary Professor in the Centre for the Study of the Renaissance where he acts as an advisor to the Director, and as a mentor for their postgraduate and doctoral members.
