Community Safety

Who We Are

The Community Safety team is dedicated to protecting the safety and security of everyone who studies at, lives at, works at, and visits the University.

We have an on-Campus presence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide agile support to everyone within our community when they need it and where they need it.

Additionally, we are responsible for helping to protect the University's physical assets and buildings to ensure that the quality of teaching and research, that Warwick prides itself on, is able to function effectively.

What We Do

Our team provides a wide range of support and services to the Campus community that fall into four main categories:

Make Safety Part of Your Day

Everyone has a role to play in keeping our campus safe. If you see something suspicious or concerning, report it immediately! — and if you have suggestions about how we can improve our service, share your feedback with us.

The easiest way to stay connected with campus security is through the SafeZone app. It’s free to download and simple to use.

Get the SafeZone app and learn how to use it.

News and Events

Welcome to Warwick! Find everything you need for when you arrive on our Welcome to Warwick pages.

Meet the team at our many 'pop-up' stands across Campus during the academic year. Look out for the blue Community Safety gazebo and come and say 'hello'.

Planning on cycling to explore the area? Don't forget to register your bike for free with BikeRegisterLink opens in a new window to help keep your bike secure. Be sure to get yourself a solid, 'D-type' lock to deter criminals. We recommend locks with the Sold SecureLink opens in a new window award.

When the nights draw closer and it becomes dark sooner, don't forget to fit some lights and reflectors to make sure you are visible while cycling in the dark.

If you live off campus and need to walk home, be sure to stick to well-lit, populated areas. Take a look at our local area map which shows the most well-lit routes into the local area. If you are travelling further, consider taking the bus or a taxi to get home quickly and safely, while staying warm. You can find lots of useful information for travelling to and from Campus on our travelling to university page. For taxi-specific information, please see our taxi webpage.

Note: All calls requiring an external emergency service on Campus should be made through the Control Centre on the emergency number. NOTE: The Control Centre officer may then ask you to call the Ambulance Service directly yourself after calling us. This is to give the best level of care to the patient because you will be asked a list of questions by them that you will be best placed to answer at the scene.
