Summer Building Works Programme 2025

The Library will be completing a number of building works over the quieter summer period to keep our building up to scratch. The improvements will include:
Study Booth Panel Upgrades - 2nd and 3rd Floor Extension
Thursday 11 July - Sunday 25 July
From Thursday 11th July until Sunday 25th August, we’ll be updating the perspex panelling in the study booths located in the 2nd and 3rd Floor Extension.
The space will continue to be accessible while the work is underway; however, please be aware that there may be some intermittent noise and minor disruption during this period.
Thank you for bearing with us as we make these improvements to your study environment.
Audio Visual (AV) Work - Wolfson Research Exchange
Monday 14 July - Wednesday 31 July
From Monday 14th July to Wednesday 31st July, significant works to improve the AV equipment will be taking place in the Wolfson Research Exchange. During this time, there may be some noise and disruption, so you may prefer to use alternative quiet spaces such as the Postgraduate Hub (PG Hub), which is open daily from 09:00 to 22:00, or the 2nd Floor Extension.
The Wolfson Research Exchange will remain open, and you’ll still be able to access hot/cold water during the upgrade period.
Draught lobby works
On Wednesday 9 July, a new project is beginning where draught-proof doors will be installed at the Library’s first-floor entrance. As a result, from 9 to 18 July, the front entrance will be closed for all staff, students, and visitors.
Please use the doors and stairs by the café to enter the Library, where a Customer Services staff member will be available to assist.
Note: The pavement on the building’s right side is closed due to groundworks behind Lib 2. Please use the path on the left side next to Humanities.
Students and visitors with accessibility needs should inform Customer Services for assistance.
