SJTU/Warwick Global Challenge 2025

Overview

When is it?

23 June - 16 July 2025, Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 12:00 (BST)

How does it work?

Undergraduate students from across a range of subject areas at Warwick will team up virtually with students from SJTU. Academic experts from SJTU and Warwick will deliver three weeks of structured teaching and support. Students give group presentations the following week.

Who can apply?

Any Warwick undergraduate students with an interest in history, global trade, cultural studies, and sustainable development. You will need to be available to attend the full programme period to participate.

Course Structure

  • Week 1: Introduction to port cities, globalization, and cultural perspectives (Shanghai, Hong Kong).
  • Week 2: Global Encounters between China and Europe, sustainable development, and group research.
  • Week 3: Advanced research methods, including digital humanities and linguistic superdiversity.
  • Week 4: Final group presentations and project evaluations.
